Take care of your Ceramic Cookware

Take care of your Ceramic Cookware

Wytze de Vries

Effium uses PFAS-free ceramic coatings — healthy, durable, and better for the planet. These pans are versatile and high-performing, but they need a bit more care than traditional nonstick.

Using your pan the right way

  1. Start clean. Always begin with a clean, stain-free pan.
  2. Preheat briefly on low/medium heat for a few seconds.
  3. Add oil or butter — always cook with a bit of fat.
  4. Add ingredients and cook like a pro.
  5. Avoid overheating. High heat is okay, but don’t overdo it — never leave the pan empty on high heat for long.

Cleaning made simple

  1. Clean while warm — not hot, let the pan cool down a bit first.
  2. Use warm water only — never rinse a hot pan with cold water.
  3. No soap needed for daily cleaning — just a soft sponge or brush.
  4. Leave the pan slightly oily — this creates a natural nonstick layer.
  5. Towel dry. If done well, the pan is clean, stain-free and lightly oiled. Good to go!

Need a deeper clean?
Use soap if there’s buildup — but it removes the natural oil layer. Reapply by rubbing a drop of oil on the surface after drying.

Good to know

  • Stains/discoloration are normal — make sure to clean them after cooking.
  • Never cook on a dirty pan — stains will burn in permanently.
  • If performance fades, you can recoat your pan at effium.com/recoat and make it like new again.

Do's

  • Use wooden, silicone, or nylon utensils
  • Clean gently but thoroughly
  • Cook with oil or butter
  • Maintain that natural oil layer

Do not:

  • Keep cooking with a dirty pan
  • Use metal or sharp tools
  • Use dishwasher or harsh detergents
  • Overheat the pan or pre-heat empty

Take good care, and your pan will serve you for years of fast, clean, sustainable cooking.
Happy cooking!
